Homework Turtle exists so that no student has to be good at being organized before they’re allowed to be good at school. We build tools that adapt to how a brain actually works — calm, patient, and never in a hurry — so that the effort goes into the learning instead of into keeping up with the app.

Why I built it

I was the student this is for. Not the one who didn’t care — the one who cared a lot and still couldn’t find the assignment, or started it Thursday night, or got told to “just focus” as though that were something you could simply decide to do.

Nothing I was handed had been built for a brain like mine. The planners assumed I’d remember to open them. The tutoring assumed I’d get it the first time. The apps kept adding features until using the app became its own homework.

So Homework Turtle looks the same every day, never punishes you for falling behind, and Shelly will explain the same thing ten times without sighing. That last part isn’t a feature. It’s the whole reason I built this.

What we promise families

• Shelly explains; it doesn’t do the homework. It walks students through each step and asks questions back, so the thinking stays theirs.
• No ads and no ad tracking, and we never sell personal information.
• Kids under 13 need a parent’s approval by email before they can use the app.
• Parents see what’s due, not everything. On the Family plan, the parent dashboard shows assignments and progress, not your child’s notes or conversations with Shelly.
• A parent can download or delete the account’s data at any time.
• Honest about where we are. Homework Turtle launched in September 2026. We don’t have reviews to show you yet — when real families leave them, they’ll be here, in their own words.

Who we are

Homework Turtle is made by a two-person team at Oddball Outpost LLC in Mineola, New York. It works on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web. Shelly runs on Anthropic’s Claude.
